Thank you for your TG service! ~ rob1989huf

In this instalment of our 'Thank you for your TG service!'  I am interviewing Captain rob1989huf. He is currently leading the 1st Battalion of the PS4 Brigade in the BF Division. Rob has been a member of Tactical Gaming since January 2017.

TGxLadicius: What first drew your attention to TG? What made you sign up and stay?
rob1989huf: When I typed in "tactical gaming clan" in the google search bar. TG came up first. I looked into it for a few hours and thought that it was right up my ally. @Typicalveteran- was my first SL in Banshees BF1 / PS4 / 1st Battalion. Although he was sometimes very goofy, he knew how to be informative and professional when the time was needed. Once I learned the rank structure and seriousness of TG, It quickly reminded me about the more intriguing parts of my USMC career.

TGxLadicius: Looking at your career history in TG, you have completed a number of ATCs. What would you like to say to members who would also like to complete some of those same, or similar, courses?
rob1989huf: Find a "buddy". Someone that is always on when you are on, and likes to play to your style. It doesn't matter if they are in TG or in a party already, really as long as they help you evolve your play style while having fun with it. My buddy was @Jbomb-six for most of my BF1 career. He almost felt like leaving TG and was offered a position with me as my SL. We became very good friends after that. I know a lot about him from talking with him in-game on a regular basis for years after, helping me have fun and accomplish goals along the way.

TGxLadicius: I have just recently started a rapport with you. It has occurred to me that members of our division have historically, consistently, and religiously been eager to assist when and where they can. What would you suggest to our newest members who are looking for that type of inclusion regardless of where in TG they call home?
rob1989huf: Asking for help from ANY member in the BF Division's PS4 Brigade 1st Battalion will not be difficult for ANY member. We are a strong unit that understands that teamwork wins victories along with more options to do incredible-goofy things. Like our PLDC and joyriding in a jeep going 100kph with a full load.

TGxLadicius: If a squad member is on the fence about stepping up to squad staff. What advice would you offer to help them make a decision?
rob1989huf: Follow me and keep your head up!!! I only have time for members that seem motivated in the position. No room for slackers. We are strong but the core strength of my Battalion are my SS. If my Squad Leaders are undisciplined or unmotivated then I can expect unsatisfactory results. I try to set the best example for all of 1st battalion. Position requires selfless dedication to others and absolutely nothing less, and a natural interest in Battlefield teamwork tactics. Squad Leaders are completely in charge of their squad, they run their squads their way. If they have special intentions on practice nights they are free to excuse their squad from general practice sessions with 1st battalion to perform "special operations."

TGxLadicius: Finally, I'd like to say thank you for your TG service, and thank you for taking the time for this interview.
rob1989huf: Thank you @TGxLadicius for this interview, your service and your knowledge you've shared with me in my TG career. Also special shoutout to @TG SmokeyB, @TG-LEGENDARY, @TG-Ace88, and all of BF PS4.

Battlefield V - Grind

Battlefield V Update
Grind

There has been a new update for BFV in the form of a new game mode, called Grind.

Grind is based on the Conquest game mode but it is focused on 3 objectives in a corridor, with little flanking opportunity's. It's 32v32 and it can, sorry... WILL get hectic. That many people fighting in such a small space is crazy, but it's a really fast and fun game mode.

Currently, it's adopted to 5 maps, including Devastation, Narvik, Rotterdam & Twisted Steel.  With the game mode out, it also contributes to getting the new Tides of War weapons. The only downside is it's here for a limited time only.

I personally think DICE have done rather well with this game mode. Check it out for yourselves!

Also in another note, DICE has brought back duo's for Firestorm. Which is a brilliant idea!

Have you tried Grind yet? Do you hate it or love it?

ATO - TG Epsi, TG Kacy2k, and Typicalveteran-

@TG Epsi , @TG Kacy2k, @dhmoose (Welcome back),@Typicalveteran- it is a pleasure working with all of you. We are a great team and I hope your teamwork serves as an example for the Division Staff and AT's you are responsible for. Seeing as Epsi, Kac, and Vet have been here doing the good work for TG for a while I figured it was appropriate to call them out in front of the community on the awesome work they are doing each day.

To all who shall see these presents, greeting:

Know Ye, that reposing special trust and confidence in the fidelity and abilities of

@TG Epsi

I hereby award

One (1) Instance of the Distinguished Service Cross Medal

During your tenure as 2nd Corp Commander, over the last almost 18 months, you have been a leader, mentor, confidant, punching bag, hammer, and a Marine. None of those things are mutually exclusive, but I appreciate you and I know 2nd Corp, Tactical Warfare, and the Tactical Gaming community as a whole is a better place because of you and benefits from your wisdom and leadership. 2nd Corp serves as an example across Tactical Gaming of what is possible within the community. It isn't perfection or a ticket to stop pressing forward, so time to get back to work!

To all who shall see these presents, greeting:

Know Ye, that reposing special trust and confidence in the fidelity and abilities of

@TG Kacy2k

I hereby award

One (1) Instance of the Legion of Merit Medal

It's hard to believe it has only been 5 months with you in Tactical Warfare Command as 1st Corp Commander because you have gotten so much done in that time. 1st Corp has been in a rough spot for a number of years and it still is facing its challenges, but I am confident that you are making it a better place with each passing month. It is so nice to see that Call of Duty has returned to being a powerhouse division. You've developed an impressive leadership team and removed the chaff where it was required.

That said, I know we can do so much more in terms of numbers, competition, etc. and that you are taking us there. The Division Division's return marks another opportunity for you to foster an environment for our leadership team and member base to grow and succeed. You too, should get back to work!

To all who shall see these presents, greeting:

@Typicalveteran-

I hereby award

One (1) Instance of the Legion of Merit Medal

You are quickly approaching your 6 months as Head Trainer for Tactical Warfare and I can say with confidence you have done an amazing job in every aspect. Many of the vacant positions we started with are filled with capable AT's and some of the ones you have worked with and mentored have moved on to higher leadership positions. Where ever we need you, we have you. I ranted about CPP's as did @TG Biggy and you have done an amazing job getting attendance up across the board. A lot of regulations and requirements for training have changed during your tenure, but you partner with our Division Staff constantly to ensure we are moving forward as a team, on the same page.

As I have told the other two, we aren't perfect. In fact, we are far from it, but having people to count on who share a passion for this community, this family, is what keeps me going. I know it can't be easy maintaining your work, life, TG balance with all the Army has you doing. I appreciate it and I know TG is better for it. Now get back at it!

Division Spotlight - World of Tanks

Tactical Gaming Division Spotlight
World of Tanks

Welcome to a special news article, shining the spotlight on different divisions/legions within Tactical Gaming. This time, we are shining the light on Tactical Warefare's very own World of Tanks division.

The World of Tanks division has been around for some time now and has been going strong ever since. Here to tell us more about the division is Division Officer, C0ACH:

"Let me start with some ancient history, from our AT, malvMONSTER, when the game was about as young as our division:
"Back in the day when my tier 6 light tank fought in tier 10 matches.... (many metas ago) the TG WoT div was just a twinkle in the eye of division founder dhmoose. After a relentless flurry of recruitment by him and a few others in a very short period......... the Tactical Gaming World of Tanks Bandits were born. I remember being the first Squad Leader of Hellcat. Virtually everybody in the division was brand new to clans, team play, and gaming communities in general. I'd say about 10% of those guys are still around in the current division, but over 60% of them still game together. TG has been a part of my life in one way or another for over 3 years. My game play has increased greatly, and I’ve met some really great people."

TG WoT division has been going strong for about 3.5 years now and the evolution within has been a source of pride. Turnover is a challenge on any single game, but the core group loves the game and has shepherded it to where we are today. Where we have seen the most improvement has been in our competition team activities. When we started on that path we were the Bad News Bears, and while we are by no means the cream of the crop our improvement has been noticed within the community. We are on an upward path and getting stronger every day.

I would say that as far as hurdles go, it is an ongoing struggle to have the correct oil in your tank.  From one battle to the next you go from the tropical islands of the Southern Pacific to the frozen tundra of Mother Russia.  Too thin or too heavy and your tank will be useless.   The game is one of constant variety meets pot luck.  The owner/creator War gaming decides the map, and the roster you will be playing alongside as well as against.  You get to decide what tier, tank type, and whether you're bringing up to 4 of your Best tanking friends.  With each tier (ranging 1-10) you have a variety of playing styles to choose from.  You can choose the slower moving, thicker armour, and more powerful gun of the Heavy, the thinly armoured but fast nimble light tank, play sniper in a Tank Destroyer, etc.  And each of ELEVEN Nation's different tank “trees” has its advantages and disadvantages.  Each battle is over in no more than 15 minutes and you only spawn once per battle so make your shots count and conserve your health.  It is fast moving, strategic, and each battle brings unique challenges.

Here is a recent battle story from our key leaders and contributors, Gold Peak:
“I just want to say everyone is doing great I know some of the newer guys don’t see it but a year or so ago the competition team was more like ‘let’s pretend to be a comp team’. I feel like we just need to practice forcing tanks and catching the over matches. Example: jay saw that the death star was all by his self in the corner even though there was a Maus and E100 nearby, but because there was a big building between the two tanks he knew it would be beneficial to push with the tank that with him even though he wanted to take out the Maus. The gap they had to cross was small enough where the Maus and E100 would only be able to get one shot off so it’s risk and reward, and the waited till the E100 looked the other way and pushed on the Death Star. Now that play that was with jay and turtle and I always give credit where it’s due. At first ,turtle didn’t want to but when the caller said no I want this Death Star out he stopped looking at the Maus and did what the caller wanted as soon as the caller made up his mind. Things like that: just listen to what the caller says and not what you want to be. I appreciate it a lot. Thank you guys, keep it up.”

World of Tanks is one of those love it or leave it kind of games and for those who love it - like we in the WoT Division do - it's really best described as a love/hate relationship: One day you are single-shot killing the enemy by ammo-racking them and thinking your skills are beyond compare, and the next day you are the one getting dumped on by Arty again, and again, and..... well, you get it.

The real beauty of WoT is its variety: with over 400 tanks, 50+ maps, and multiple game modes the game always feels fresh. Add competitive play into the mix and it is easy to see why some of our members have been playing this game for 4 years+. Come see for yourself!

That’s it, from the voices of my best friends to this article.  Many many thanks to my team for creating this ‘right from the ticker, man!’ Bull Monkey 71, dingiestrat7767, @Gold Peak, malvMONSTER.  You guys will always be #1.  And thanks to our team for the grow and the spirit and constant comraderies.  Go Bandits!"

Thank you very much to C0ACH for providing this great statement.

It seems that World of Tanks will keep on going, flying the flag for Tactical Gaming.

Tactical Gaming's Boots v3

Welcome back to the 3rd edition of our tactical Gaming's Boots interviews! We have a special interview today with a return member!

Take the stage @TG-Vain

MrWulfie: How did you first originally hear about TG?
I originally heard about TG back in 2008 through my brother, who at the time recently joined as well, and I'll tell you things were different back then.
I was originally placed in Inca (IS) 2nd PS3 RSV2Division and I'll always remember the way bootcamp was initiated back then I was asked to join an in-game party by a member of CoC known as a Drill Instructor, he read through the entirety of the boot camp document with a sort of call and response between myself and the DI, upon completing BC I was shot in the head and welcomed to TG, that to me was what stood out about TG upon other clans, it was something unique.

MrWulfie: What is it about TG that attracted you to come back?
This is my third time around in TG, its the community I enjoy, the idea of so many people under one name all playing with the same purpose.

MrWulfie: Can you think of anything that you've noticed about TG that could be improved if anything?
The only thing I can think of at this moment is the website told me I was banned on my mobile device, I got very confused and immediately contacted my CoC, the issue has rectified itself thankfully, and I have no issues with the community.

MrWulfie: How has the TG community welcomed you back?
I was immediately welcomed into my IN squad, I was also welcomed back by members from my past service in TG i.e TG Sirmadness (who was once my SM back in the days of Battlefield 3), TG-TheProfessor (who was my DO in Killzone Shadowfall Division) and a few others, and Mr PunkRocka ( CoD Black Ops 3 Division)

MrWulfie: Where do you see yourself going with your TG career?
My TG career started back in 08, across the board I've been every rank SM up to Div Staff, I would like to eventually get myself back up to divisional staff, I know this will take time and hard work within my Division, and also if the opportunity ever occurs to move up the CoC, but my outlook is if it happens, it happens, and until then my job is to get members through IN squad.

MrWulfie: And finally, how would you rate your experience out of 5?
My experience in TG over the years has been an eventful but rewarding one, I've seen the ups and downs of divisions, regardless of where you are you will always have a squad to play with and friends to be made, because of this reason alone I rate TG a 5, I mean there has got to be a reason I keep finding myself coming back

Thank you for your time @TG-Vain it was a pleasure to talk to you!

Since this interview Vain is now an SM in Apex divison long may you continue to enjoy your time here in TG!

If you'd like to tell your story! and be interviewed, don't hesitate to message MrWulfie for your chance to be spotlighted!

Apex - A Rising Star

Apex Legends - A star is born!

When we first heard about Apex, we thought "oh here's another battle royal game and it's free, it won't' be any good". Oh how wrong was we! Apex Legends is now almost as popular as Fortnite and is still growing in players. Its been given 5 stars by reviews and been called 'The best game of the year so far'.

So, what do we think?

Well, we here at Tactical Gaming like it so much they opened a Division within Tactical Warfare, a good start. The game is developed by the same people who did Titanfall & Titanfall 2, which again is another great thing. The game itself is different from most of the battle royal games currently available by having certain features that are unique to Apex. Such as choosing your characters before deploying. With each character (they are called 'Legends') having their own unique abilities, you can choose a character that suits you and your gameplay style, also it stops you getting bored. These abilities range from defence to attack but are useful in the right situations.

Yes, it is a battle royal game. Which means landing, finding weapons and kit, running away from the ever closing circle without been trapped or shot. But this game feels so much different to the other battle royal games. You do have squads of 3, which is interesting. Some think this is a bad idea, but the majority seem to like it and sometimes change is good. With the added character abilities and interesting supply ship fights, it feels faster and smoother than other games. Continuing on the different features Apex has over the other battle royal games when you drop you have 1 person leading all the squad. This stops people jumping where ever they want and leaving the squad behind, i personally think its a great feature. Oh don't get me wrong, if you want to jump and leave your squad you can do. You have the ability to jump solo if you wish and head somewhere else.

Apex is not yet ready for cross play due to running into some issue. However, the developers have told us that we will see cross play in the near future. When Apex does go crossplay, it may well overtake Fortnite in popularity. Apex is also planning to come to Nintendo Switch in the future, but no dates have been confirmed.

Apex is a game that has surprised most people and will continue to get better. I mean, within 24 hours, 2.5 million people had already downloaded it.
How can you beat them numbers?
