Background

Tactical Gaming (TG) founder, TG Biggy, discovered his passion for video gaming dating back to the Atari 2600.  He followed the evolution of the industry by playing all types of games on all platforms. His first multiplayer experience was in college while playing Duke Nukem 3D PC (1996) with his friends in class. The seed was planted…

His real first online experience was around the end of the 1990’s. Soon after, the desire for teamwork and tactics followed. As years past, the different PC based communities he was part of allowed him to clearly define what he enjoyed and was looking for. In 2004, he started to notice the explosion of online gaming on consoles (original XBOX and PS2).  It’s at that point the vision and mission were created.

Vision & Mission

We believe that regardless of origin, nationality, age, gender, race, religious beliefs or creed, disrespectful behavior towards one another is unacceptable. The same belief is applied to gaming. With the notion that so many people share the common passion for video games, the vision and mission is to bring together like-minded gamers from around the globe and from multiple platforms, to provide them head quarters (web site) where they could share their backgrounds, experience, and interests in teamwork and tactics, as well as providing them with an environment that allows a “friends-first” experience.

The Birth

The community was created in November 2004 under the Tactical Warfare (TW) franchise supporting warfare based games only. The growth of the community not only brought together like-minded gamers from all over the world, but members with amazing skills such as leadership, digital media and technical skills that enable us to provide a gaming experience like no other.

TacticalGaming.net (TG)

In September 2008 we experienced  a major restructure that allowed us to better meet our member’s needs.  By re-branding ourselves to TacticalGaming.net (TG),  we were able to support multiple franchises of different genres which include the established TW franchise and the creation of Tactical Sports (TS) for sports based games. Unfortunately, the “team vs team” modes in sports based games did not explode in popularity like we had hoped and as such, TS was shut down in 2018.  From ashes of TS, the Tactical Adventures (TA) franchise  was created to accept a variety of games that simply did not fit TW. Games such as turn-based and other based strategy, role-playing, non shooter Massively Multiplayer (MMO), Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games and more. Unfortunately, even with the best possible efforts, TA did not grow as needed to justify  the work involved. As such, in 2022, we took the opportunity to simplify everything by merging TW and TA to simply be known as TacticalGaming.net (TG).  

TG’s Commitment to Non Military Style Shooters

It's important to mention that our commitment  to turn-based, role-playing, non shooter MMO, MOBA games and more hasn't changed. They're part of the same TG structure while keeping the same flexibility as they did before.

The Vanguard - Leading the way!
In May 2021 (the year of the global COVID pandemic), we implemented the Vanguard Division to address the release of uncompleted and buggy games released by the industry. All new, not so new or returning games begin in the Vanguard Division and once the membership requirements have been met, move as their own Division.

In addition, games that haven't met TG's initial trial phase or no longer meet the minimum membership requirements, can be moved back to Vanguard. This allows us to support a higher number of games with lower staffing.

Future

The video game industry is constantly changing and evolving which in turn is bringing our gaming experience to a whole new level. TG is always looking forward and adapting itself to these changes so that we can provide our members an elite gaming experience. We are dedicated to continue and improve the services we offer to our members now, and in the future.
