Are You Ready To Answer The Call Of Duty?

Simply put....if you have not checked out the Call Of Duty Trailer for there newest installment into the franchise then please watch this before reading on, we would prefer if you share our level of hype before reading on.

Is everyone still here and licking there lips??? Fantastic, let's crack on with everything we know so far about our newest delve into the Call Of Duty universe.

Now for those who have been following the Call Of Duty games you may remember the constant gripping story lines that sometimes gives you hard decisions and a glimpse into the real life snap decisions that our special forces and armed forces across the world have to be ready to make at any moment and it seems that Cold War is ready to live up to that pedigree. This Game is based as a direct sequel to the events of Black Ops One and is set 13 years after that story line. Your mission? To track down a soviet spy who goes by the name "Perseus" who has been stealing nuclear secrets from the US. With the sometimes gritty truth behind the Call Of Duty games ever since "No Russian" you can expect to be making illicit and sometimes illegal decisions during your foray into this darker side of the Cold War and will be occasionally even be punched with Vietnam Flashbacks thrown into the narrative so be prepared for one hell of a trip.

Some old favorites will be along side with you including Alex Mason, Frank Woods and that smooth headed operator James Hudson. However, in this story line you will be playing as your own customizable character named Bell...for the moment. By Finding information in the game you will reveal redacted information on a document giving you more customization options for your character. It has been confirmed that you will initially have the options of choosing your skin tone and your gender, setting as male, female or classified will change the way the other soldiers and main headliners will refer to you in the Voice Overs respectfully depending upon your preferences.

Now carrying on the storyline side of things, they have taken a different approach this time and there is no singular ending. The way the story plays out and the finale you end up with depends upon the way you handle your missions. The techniques used to complete undercover aspects, accepting and completing optional side missions as well as the missions you can unlock during unique dialogue trees, will give you more immersion into the game.  The writers are counting on this to make the story more a playable feature than the usual 'something to run through' before grinding out multiplayer modes and Warzone.

Official Quote from Call Of Duty Website regarding the campaign.

Black Ops Cold War will drop fans into the depths of the Cold War's volatile geopolitical battle of the early 1980s.  Nothing is ever as it seems in a gripping single-player Campaign, where players will come face-to-face with historical figures and hard truths, as they battle around the globe through iconic locales like East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, Soviet KGB headquarters, and more.

Oh yes, they have returned my least favorite game mode - due to my personal inability to resist the urge to go full steam ahead into fights - Warzone, which will be coming back, as the free release alongside Modern Warfare has been such a success they are bringing it to Cold War. Call Of Duty Official states "Black Ops Cold War will also support and build on the hit, free-to-play experience Call Of Duty: Warzone". Whether this is a stand alone version or a new map choice with Cold War era weapons we are unsure at this moment, but with them saying they wish to build on Call Of Duty Modern Warfare: Warzone its mere speculation at this point.

On the other end of the spectrum the return of my personal favorite weekend killer, and my favorite part of Treyarch,  Zombies has been confirmed with a new chapter in it's own story for those who followed the original tale across the games and map hints, which i am praying will have a teaser with the official multiplayer reveal on the 9th Of September.

Now the game has an interesting Pre-order system that hints towards the nature of the Next Gen consoles and there release date. In an upcoming article I mention there is a system of where you buy the game and you get a version for the XB1 and a masterwork version if you like, for the Series X. Judging by the Pre-Order options available, this seems quite spot on but it look's like there will be a slight price increase for the double version of the game. This is the second game that's going to have a next gen aspect created specifically that's releasing in mid November so looks like an end of November or early December release of the next gen consoles seems likely. Any Progress and unlocks made on the current gen of console will be carrying forwards onto the new hardware if you decide to purchase those next Gen beasts.

Now at the moment there are 3 versions for consoles and 2 versions for PC that you can Pre-order. There is the standard edition across all 3 which will work on the current Gen consoles which is costing £59.99 and for consoles,  a mere £5 increase at £64.99 you can get the before mentioned Cross Gen version which will allow you to download Cold War for no extra charge to the next gen consoles. Which seems pretty fair to me but they kept the option in only to buy the current gen which i like as it's set to be cross play enabled with the current gen and next gen console. And Lastly there is the Ultimate edition which has the usual bag of goodies, exclusive content skins and the like. All three pre-orders comes with access to the open beta which will last a minimum of 2 days. As a little bonus, when you purchase the Pre-order you also get the Frank Woods operator pack For Modern Warfare.

Keep this space open for any updates firing out to you all and set your reminders for the Multiplayer Official reveal on the 9th September.

Which version are you going to be grabbing? and how many of you will I be seeing playing the beta? leave you thoughts and comments and below because I can't be the only one excited by our next installment.
