As part of the Tactical Gaming's 15 Anniversary  plan mentioned in this announcement.  The PRO is releasing old articles from our archives,  This one gives a short history of our Call of Duty Division.

First, to start things off, Call of Duty started its trail phase on the 21st of July, 2007. It is currently the third longest standing Division in all of TG. It's first Brigade, the 360 Brigade. Along with the Brigade came the two original squads Ardennes for 1st BTN and Thermoplylae for 2nd BTN. With these two new squads opened and ready to change the way COD Division looked forever, we move onto our next Brigade that opened, the PS3 Brigade. The PS3 Brigade opened up roughly two years later than the 360. The first two squads were Leathernecks  for 1st BTN, and Overlord for 2nd BTN. Next up, we have the PC Brigade. The first two squads within this Brigade were Baedeker for 1st BTN and Kokoda for 2nd BTN. Eventually, 2nd BTN needed to open up another IS squad called London. With the help of TG Blistig and TG James246, I've gathered a lot of information on how this Brigade came to be. Without further adieu,
here is what they have told me.

This one here is from Blistig (Previous CoD DO and CoS) himself:

Back in November of 2009, when there was only Xbox and PS3 Brigades for Call of Duty, an old friend of mine who goes by the name of Chewitt offered to step up and try and open a PC Brigade.  Chewitt left the Battlefield PC Brigade where we had many fun months playing BF Heroes together to start up the new Call of Duty Brigade. After getting all the groundwork setup.. threads and squads, etc., he needed more help.  A few days after his transfer, myself and another good friend by the name of TG Popo, transferred over to CoD PC to help out.  Popo opened up the first IS squad (Waterloo) in 1st Battalion and I led the first ST squad (RoughRiders). There was no issues with recruits at that time.. we had a massive influx from both externally and from within TG.  As members joined, they soon after graduated from the IS to join my ST.  Another close friend of mine, who at the time went by the name of SmeatnPotatoes and later Tiny Paws, was one of the first members to join and graduate to my ST squad.  I quickly started mentoring her to lead the ST squad so I could move on, in preparation for our 2nd ST squad opening, which we opening less than a month after. From this point things start to get a bit fuzzy for me but you can check my career history to be sure.  I think it went something like.. Smeats took over RoughRiders (ST) from me... I went back to lead Waterloo (IS) and get some intro squad exposure and Popo went on to lead the 2nd ST squad, BlackKnights.  Shortly after, some more shuffling and after we had fully established squads with trained stuff... Popo and I moved up to CO and XO and Smeats remained as IS SL, which ended up being a position she truly enjoyed for a long time.. being the Gatekeeper!

Both are not even a year old, and have opened up a whole bunch of squads. The PS4 opened it's first two IN Squads, Sharp Edge (1st BTN) and Trident (2nd BTN) and XB1 opening up it's new squads, Guadalcanal (1st BTN) and Mycale (2nd BTN). Both Brigades are now currently in good hands of their BGC's, TW Runaway and TG-Bombshell. Although these Brigades have had their own ups and downs, they have shaped the Call of Duty Division into what it is today.  But not matter what kind of situation they were in, they always seemed to have great competitions in their times. In July of 2008, Chesapeake from 360 Brigade went to finish in the top ten in the TeamWarfare League and 4 months later, in November, the won 1st place in the Seal League. Two years later, in 2010, Lepanto, also from 360 Brigade won 21st place in the GB Team HC Ladder with Plataea winning 40th place in the same competition. In that same month, Hiroshima squad won 8th place in the GB MW2 Ladder. Then in March, 2011 Chesapeake squad returned for the 19th Seal League winning 2nd place and again in August for the 20th Seal League, winning the same place. In the month of September, Pearl Harbor squad, of the PC Brigade, went to achieve the playoffs in the ClanBase SnD and CTF Opencups. They went on to win 3rd place for the CTF Opencup and 2nd for the SnD Opencup. Later that month, they went on to win 1st place for both the ClanBase 5v5 TDM Ladder and the ClanBase 3v3 CTF Ladder. In August 2012, Sydney Harbour, of PC Brigade, became the Semi-Finalists for the MW3 CG0 Season 1 and then won 4th place at the CyberGamer MW3 Winter Cup. Within the same month, Plataea made its return to take on the GB Spring Season and came to win 24th place of 1,400 teams. Shiloh, of the 360 Brigade, won 1st place SEAL League Season 3 and was also rewarded the New record for most wins. In October, Chaos squad, of PS3 Brigade, won 20th place out of 4,000 teams.

Onto the 2013 competitions. Sabre squad of PS3 Brigade went on to participate in the BO2 GB Fall Season and win 11th place out of 900 teams in the MW3 GB Fall Season in February. Then, in September, Sydney Harbour squad won 4th place in the CyberGamer BO2 CGo S&D Ladder and Gettysburg, of 360 Brigade, won 3303rd place out of over 16,000 teams in the GameBattles Summer Season. Later in the same month, Plataea made yet another appearance to win 1st place in the  EGL ODC Summer 2013.   Here is perspective from dhmoose during his PS3 days:

And here is James for the 2nd Battalion side of the Brigade:

I joined back during the end of the MW2 era (July 2010) after CoD PC had been open for the better part of the year. I was in the one Australian squad called Narva (ST) in 2nd BTN. There were a handful of EU squads (London IS /Nagasaki ST/Saigon ST/Pearl Harbor CS off the top of my head, but don't hold me to that) at the time. Anyway, in Narva (ST) there were 4 or 5 of us Aussies and we stayed that way for a while. We were pretty content with how things were rocking and stayed like that for a while! Eventually I took up an SA role after about 3 months when our SA disappeared, then before not too long I was SL. Stuffed took up the XO position after Jar of Jam was promoted to CO during this time, and then before not too long Jar of Jam had to venture off to better things, Stuffed become CO and I was promoted to XO! At this stage the Australian squad Narva (ST) dropped down to like 3-4 members, and then that's when I got recruiting HARD in early-mid 2011! No joke man, in a number of weeks & months I'd essentially built up an entire battalion with a lot of help from people and had AU squads opening left right and centre with the help of a handful of guys I definitely couldn't have done it without with all the support (oilad & Ravenhaven). At one stage we got to I think having 10 ST squads in the battalion at the release of MW3, so it just goes to show... anything can happen if you're persistent enough, especially with the size of the community of CoD on the PC! Sydney Harbour (CS) had some amazing competition feats in both the BO1 & MW3 days reaching the Semi-Finals and Top 5 finishes in a number of paid competitions and ladders which was fantastic. On the EU side of the battalion, Pearl Harbor (CS) had some incredibly amazing feats as well across a massive wide-spread of ladders which was great.

Now we hop into the modern Brigades of the Division. Both the PS4 and XB1 Brigades open sometime around November of 2013.

Note: this article will get updated with more updated info in the coming future.
