Ladies and GentleBeans...

It's Story Time

Recently, a Knight of all things Madness, approached me with an idea... a brilliant idea, and one I really wish I could take credit for haha. Over the course of the "Interview with a Legend" series I will be reaching out to a member or staff from each and every squad within the Call of Duty Division. New, old, and returning members will have a chance to talk about their experiences in TG and in the current Call of Duty universe as well. That's enough from me so I bring you the delight that is @Trekboy101.

Good day/evening/morning my favorite old man, and welcome to Darkis's very own "This is Your Life, TG Edition"... I'm playing with you of course. Trek why don't you start us off with a little about your past with us here in TG?

I am Trekboy101, or just Trek. I joined Tactical Gaming way back in the Medal of Honour War Fighter Days. My first ever SS role was as SA of the MOH IN Squad (IS Squad as it was called back then) Cossacks, and then became the Squad Leader there before becoming Squad Leader of Crusaders. With the game's life coming to an end it was time to move on. So, I went on to join the Battlefield Division as Squad Leader of what then was the IN squad, Norfolk. I was there for a long time training new members, and then moved on to become the Squad Leader of Phantoms. During that time, I had the pleasure of leading the squad to a 2nd place win in the Game Battles TDM League. I was then promoted to Platoon Leader.

When Tactical Sports opened, I also joined the Formula One (F1) Division. My passion is F1 so I stepped down from PL to do TS full time and became Team Leader of the Schumacher Team. While being Team Leader, I helped the division pass trial phase. Then I worked my way up to become the Division Officer of F1, unfortunately again, the game did come to an end and with the dawn of the next gen, I thought a change would be good. The next step in my career in TG was to take on the role of DO of the GTA Division but due to large work commitments, I regretfully had to go on leave and was honourably discharged.  I did re-join and went to Battlefield again. I become SA of Red Lions, and then SL of War Hawks, but again work meant having to leave once more. After playing with the CoD guys, I realized I missed TG so I rejoined. I am here to stay as I have more a stable work/home schedule now. :)

Well we are glad to have you back with us, and I am certainly glad to have a man of such tenure and history in TG's various roles with us in my squad. I think I actually just missed you training me in Battlefield, I did my run through Red Lions with Lt Rios Grim whom I think took over from you after you moved to War Hawks? Not sure on timing as it was around 3 years ago, and I have slept a bit since then. As a long time gamer who has played just about every series and genre what's your current opinion of Call of Duty Black Ops and TG's battalion within CoD?

When I first joined TG it was always separate brigades: PC, Xbox, PS, etc. Now, we are all crossplay; I do like the idea, but I do feel that separate would be better than crossplay. I am old and stuck in my ways, but the division seems to be running well! LOL 👴

I know where you are coming from, thankfully we have managed to keep Verruckt Xbox only, but I can see the issues some squads may have with comms relying on discord or game chat. Discord which isn't quite working on Xbox and game chat which can argue with you a little bit on CoD haha. Thankfully the squad staff and the members in mixed squads have adapted well to the change and seem to have ironed out the kinks.  So, after your time away from us how does Tactical Gaming feel to you?

The same as I left it. :) All good, friendly, and welcoming. It is nice to be home. :salute:

Good to hear, and we are glad to have you with us once more my old friend. You said you had been honorably discharged, returned, and then on leave and back already, how did you find the process of returning from leave and coming to a new division?

Very good. I do feel that returning members might have issues with crossplay as some people may not have a way to talk on discord, but my move to my current squad Verruckt was nice and easy.:) I would say that if people can only talk on one platform that we should look at moving them to the best squad straight away. It might be better for them, just an idea. :)

Well as a returning TG veteran we appreciate your thoughts and are glad to have you back home once more with us. My only regret in the interview is that I could not find your original profile to grill you over you career history a bit more :). We Look forward to hearing from you more, and if you ever fancy grabbing some wins in GameBattles and reliving the glory days of Phantoms you can have my job any day.

Ladies and gentleman, as mentioned at the beginning, this series will be continued with members of all of the squads within Call of Duty, so stay tuned for the next installment.
