Chain of Command Interview

Hello everyone! Today I shine the spotlight on a Tactical Gaming member who hold an often unseen position within our community, and the man is TG Badmoon. The newest Platoon Leader at 2nd Battalion, XB1-PC, Call of Duty Division. He is going to share his insight into his role, the game and his personal thoughts about the TG community.

TG Darkis: So Sir Moon, can I call you Moon? Anyway Moony how about we start with you telling us a little bit about yourself and your time with us here at Tactical Gaming?

TG Badmoon: Well I’ve had two stints in TG due to being on leave for 6 months due to not finding a game I really liked after a very contentious division closure.

I joined TG for 4/5 years the first time and held various ranks including (SA, SL, XO and CO for Medal of Honor – great game btw).

I then re-joined TG in BF1 in 2016, then moved to BFV and then COD (SA, SL in 3 divisions / games and PL recently with COD).  @TG Louie G  was actually my IN SL for MOH when I joined and he is now my CO 😊 So I guess you could say a long time – long enough to see the CO grow up :D

TG Darkis: Well over what's basically a ten year stint here at TG it is always relieving to here that at least some of us grow up a little bit I guess haha. I'm sure I can get an interview with our valient leader in the future to get a few stories out of Louie on our favorite PL.

TG Darkis: How have you settled into your role as Platoon leader? what does it entail and how is it different from other positions you have previously held within TG?

TG Badmoon: It’s very enjoyable and we have a great team with Louie G, Turd and Firemen.  It helps when you get on with people and can have fun while doing BTN business and they are certainly characters that make it enjoyable.  It’s just making sure stuff gets done, PB, PPRs, promotions, ATS, member updating – it’s not so different from XO or CO.  I’ve also had the pleasure of taking most squad practices which I love.

TG Darkis:It Must be an interesting view point for you to be able to watch a variety of squads grow and improve in there own areas, over that of focusing on one as its SL or SA.

Now obviously we served in the same squad in Battlefield together and in that kind of environment the in game impact a Platoon leader can have in organizing squads during a large scale battle is very different from the call of duty layout. Mainly due to there beautiful idea to be unable to matchmake in squads over 6 people....... But that's off topic.

TG Darkis: What would be the one major difference you would like to see in call of duty brought in in the future?

TG Badmoon: I think we can improve in a lot of areas.  I feel the boot camp test is prohibitive, especially in COD, from recruiting – I’d like to see that cut down or done during their time in IN.  I think Warzone BR is interesting and could have dedicated squads also and there is a lot of interest in it.  I think it would be interesting to do a large game of 1st versus 2nd just for a bit of fun, maybe a FFA competition would be a good thing to organize.

TG Darkis:I see where you are coming from with the bootcamp in place and perhaps adapting it for Call Of Duty and maybe other games in future as well. And as a member of the Cod Division i would personally love to see some larger games hosted between squads. Maybe even a battalion vs battalion match every now and again? Get you working for your pay a bit harder haha. But we look forwards to seeing some of your ideas and thoughts brought to the high table and hopefully coming down to us in the future.

TG Darkis: How do you feel about the nature of call of duty players in a game to game basis? Call of duty has always brought out the worst in some players due its rage inducing yet hilarious moments, could you share one of your personal moments with us?

TG Badmoon: Compared to every game I can think of, it has some of the worst behavior and comments I’ve witnessed.  If you go in-game chat, if you don’t get abuse in a match it would be the exception and not the rule.  Some of it really is crazy when you hear the abuse people get.  I like to try and spread some love to them in the face of being abused – although it doesn’t usually have a calming effect!

I have also believed your presence has had a calming effect on our squad to say the least, especially when we have the pleasure of your company with us at practice. I'm sure the Call Of Duty community loves the peace and tranquility of a Badmoon rising into public chat and could not imagine any other outcome from your voice joining the lobby airwaves.

So I would like to wrap this up by thanking you for your time and letting our community meet the man behind the scenes over here and we look forwards to seeing the Battalions future under the command of TG Fireman's unholy trinity of Battalion staff we have here at 2nds Batt.
