Oh man! Boy am I hyped for this. The Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer was revealed just a few days ago on September 9, with never before seen gamemodes and features. The FULL 4 HOUR REVEAL is below, and the normal reveal trailer is below that too.

Now that you've seen a little bit of the action here, let's have a look at the next generation of Black Ops Multiplayer: with deniable operations, signature combat and a connected experience across the community.

DENIABLE OPERATIONS

In Black Ops Cold War, you can choose your own operators to play as, just like the previous Call of Duty games, with their own backstories which click into the game's larger narrative, which carries over into multiplayer which takes place in the years after the events of the singleplayer campaign.

You'll be dropping into deniable operations all over the world, including the North Atlantic, pure amphibious warfare between anchored battleships, submarines and smaller boats to move around. The searing deserts of Angola, where you have to capture a crashed United States satellite and make sure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. To the neon-soaked streets of Miami South Beach, where combat reaches from into the bars and clubs to down on the coast and into the water. Take advantage of the wide-open combat spaces with room to weave and vehicles to take control of, or the traditional three lane map design.

The traditional fan-loving 6v6 modes include: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Free-for-all, Hardpoint, and Search and Destroy. Control is also returning from Black Ops 4, but new modes are coming to the game from Day One of the release, VIP EscortCombined Arms, and Fireteam.

"VIP ESCORT is a 6v6 mode that introduces teamwork elements that S&D fans will enjoy. In each match, two teams take turns to protect or eliminate a player randomly selected as the VIP equipped with only a pistol, smoke grenade, and a Spy Plane (UAV but not unmanned) for recon. To win, the VIP has to successfully escape at one of two extraction sites on the map as their teammates defend them at all costs. The round ends when the VIP dies or gets away, or when one of the teams is wiped out.

To add another layer of coordination to the mix, each player goes in a downed state before they're taken out, and their teammates can revive them before they bleed out. This means in often pays to stick together in pairs and watch your partner's back, at the expense of covering more ground if you choose not to go the lone wolf route. There's always a level of misdirection and mind games that come into play in every round of this mode."

"In addition to the traditional 6v6 game modes we're known for, Black Ops Cold War introduces large-scale deniable operations in Combined Arms, a new 12v12 game type that combines infantry warfare with vehicular combat into a single cohesive experience. Combined Arms ups the ante with a new fleet of vehicles suited for any situation across land, sea and air, including Snowmobiles, Dirt Bikes, Gunboats, Wakerunners, Tanks and more.

We're always finding ways to dominate this mode, whether it's rappelling and ziplining across the high seas of Armada or slamming a C4-strapped Snowmobile into an enemy tank on Crossroads. What you war in the Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer today was just a glimpse of what's waiting for you in this 24-player battle."

"Last but not least, we're pulling out all the stops with Fireteam, a new category of Multiplayer game modes where 10 teams of four face off against one another in large-scale maps featuring an assortment of vehicles to commandeer and objectives to complete as you best see fit. Fireteam is designed to allow plenty of epic gameplay moments with big, unique environments for you to explore with your squad.

The first signature Fireteam game type is called Dirty Bomb, which we'll plan to showcase in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for more details as we get closer to the Open Beta!"

SIGNATURE COMBAT

Signature combat means a lot of fast action, fan-favourite weaponry, fluid movement, and rock-solid game mechanics. All of the pieces have to fit just right for each new entry in the series. It's about giving the players the tools they need to win. The new Create-a-Class is slot-based, giving players the freedom to choose a primary, secondary, tactical, lethal, Field Upgrade, WILDCARD, and a full set of Perks in every loadout.

Signature combat has to include a wide range of Cold War era weapons. Including the "time-tested" AK-47 assault rifle, the burst M16 tactical rifle, AK-74u submachine gun, and a whole new Black Ops arsenal.

There are a LOT more changes happening, a bit too much to put on paper here, but in game it's been carefully implemented to serve a more balanced and fulfilling multiplayer experience across the board.

A CONNECTED EXPERIENCE

Black Ops Cold War brings Next-Gen, Cross-Gen and Cross-Play compatibility so players can play with their mates no matter which platform they're on across current-gen consoles, next-gen consoles, or PC. All post-launch multiplayer maps and modes will be free for all players and the game will feature a unified progression journey shared with Call of Duty: Warzone, adding inventory items that can be used in both titles. Both games will also share post-launch content from a narrative standpoint, interweaving some of the themes, weapons, and Operators of Black Ops Cold War into Warzone.

The game releases on November 13, but before that, the Open Beta kicks off in just a couple of weeks, starting off on October 8 for Early-Access pre-orders on PS4.
